TADLOP NEWSLETTER
2007 No1

As you can see from the above I have taken the liberty of changing things a little. As there is often no real news to send out it seems a huge waste of resources and time to send a Newsletter out every month. Therefore they will come out in numbered form as and when required. So we must have some news then!
A show as special as Titanic deserves a spectacular launch and a last night that ends in style. With this in mind we will be holding red carpet events for the first (premier) and last (gala) shows.
Premier
Make sure you tell people that the first night will be very special and is not to be missed!
Gala
This will be an occasion to look ones best and then celebrate all the hard work over the past year
Rehearsals continue to go well and it is difficult at times to predict where we will be and when. Absences do tend to put a spanner in the works, so to speak, as Lynn and I work out what we are going to do but find a crucial person missing!! Are you that person!! It is vital at this stage, that all in the production do their utmost to attend, as you can appreciate by now that you may not have much to say at but it’s knowing when, where and how to say or sing it!
The sub Committee continues to work hard (as well as the Committee!) to promote and organise the show. It’s nice to see all the ‘Titanic’ shirts etc. By the way, Lynn and I have ordered ours! I trust you have seen the advertising boards on the M54. They were partially obscured by a hedge but it has been reported to the theatre so I hope that has been put right.
I am also pleased to report, that we will continue in the future to have the excellent services of Suzanne Findlay and Julie Dipple as our rehearsal accompanists with Suzanne on Wednesdays and Julie on Sundays. I am sure you all agree that we are fortunate to have such talented and supportive accompanists.
Please don’t forget to get your membership subscriptions in. As I have said before, you do get a lot for a mere £30. I worked out that over a ten-month period, if you were to attend twice a week it works out at 75p a rehearsal! That tested my maths by the way!
On a sad note, I am sure on behalf of you all, I wish to express our condolences to the family of Josie Downing. She will be greatly missed. She always paid great attention to detail to ensure that TADLOP members were turned out on stage looking their best-she will not be forgotten. alistaircraib@aol.com 9, Jackfield Mill, Jackfield, Telford TF8 7LL
