Audience Response

We have a great time producing and performing shows but we could not do it without our audience, and after a show we always get such amazing responses that we want to share these comments with you.

Evita Review

Shropshire Star

“It is always a challenge to get a really new show to perform, it is then an even greater challenge to present it with no peer guidelines to assist, one to which you all rose to most splendidly. Some of the music is well known but that does not mean that it is easy to perform however I think you got the balance right, the company were all engaged in the action. The production revolves round Evita and her relationships narrated by Che, here you chose strong voices and Neil, Sabina, Ron and Stephen, in particular, must be commended for their performances both vocally and in their physical transformations. The company must not be left out of my thanks, the scene where the company came into the audience chanting their fisted “Peron’s” was very involving and effective. A difficult show but splendidly presented, well done to you all.” – Michael Hastilow

“Having enjoyed previous TADLOP productions my husband and I were looking forward to Evita very much. It was great to see a full house on the Saturday, with many friends and family of the cast in the audience. Although we already knew many of the songs, we had not seen the play before and did not know all of the story. All of the principal players were excellent and the staging was impressive. Everyone – from “Eva” herself to the chorus players and the stage hands – played their part well to contribute to the overall impact of the play. As we were there on Saturday we saw the Chairman do all the thanks and give out gifts.  As am dram members ourselves we know what goes into a production but we were especially impressed with the close-knit feeling of the Society and the amount of young talent on show.”

“Brilliant production. This is the first time my wife and I have attended a Tadlop production and we were surprised by the quality of an amateur theatrical group. In fact Tadlop was as good if not better than many professional productions. Well done everyone.” – David Johnson

“My father-in-law said he thought it was so much better than the professional one he saw last year”

“Excellent performance tonight! Thoroughly enjoyed it. Can’t wait to see what you put on next. Well done everyone! X” – Jan Park

“Please congratulate everyone involved with Evita on an amazing production. It was really fantastic and of a very high standard” – Ann Lanyon

“What a great show it was. There was hardly a murmur from the audience except for clapping everyone was so enthralled and time went so quickly. We really enjoyed the show.” – Kay Ikin

“I was so very pleasantly surprised – I wasn’t expecting that level of professionalism at all ( I mean that in a very positive way) – the lady who played Evita and Stephen were amazing – more like West End stars than amateurs!!”

“My grand-daughter and I also thought it was an excellent show and they did a brilliant job. It was hard to come to terms with the fact that they were an amateur group. My partner and I enjoy taking a couple of day’s holiday in London a couple of times a year and go and see the shows and I thought that Evita was as polished as some of the professional shows I have seen. It was a brave choice of show and they must have worked extremely hard. I was amazed that they had a proper orchestra that performed so well too. I thought they had done very well with the late 40s/early 50s look and the costumes and hair was excellent. I will be recommending future TADLOP productions to friends and family. Well done to all involved”
