Prepare to be wowed as Jesus Christ Superstar explodes into Theatre Severn with a powerful blend of rock, gospel and classical music performed by a live band and extraordinary vocalists. With classics such as ‘Gethsemane’, ‘Superstar’ and ‘I Don’t Know How to Love Him’; this thrilling production promises to be a musical masterpiece like no other.

A story of passion, struggle and sacrifice told entirely through song; Jesus Christ Superstar immerses audiences in the dramatic re-telling of the last week of Jesus Christ’s life through the eyes of Judas as Jerusalem becomes under threat from the Romans. This production returns to the era in which the musical was written; with scenery and costumes inspired by the tumultuous progressive movements of the 1960s, the establishment powers which suppress them, and the divisions which arise within their factions. Jesus is burdened with the foresight of his death, knowing that his larger cause has to outlive him, and this production explores how his mission for a kinder world is still ongoing.
